This is not unusual for trained dancers to take up stripping at least part-time at sometime during their career. In Frankfurt at the Platinum Club at least a quarter of the girls were out of work dances and in New York at the Pussy Cat Dolls many were out of work dancers. I do not know if Mel Penny was a professionally trained dancer or stripper, but she certainly could dance and strip professionally.
